Rob writes: "My favourite mnemonic is a completely useless one, to remember the endings in French which double the consonant and add -E in the feminine. I love it because it rolls off the tongue, and vividly conjours up the image of a rascally Roman, unshaved and tousled after a night out at a restaurant with a pretty girl, coming home, and deciding with a roguish smile not to set his alarm - he can take the morning off, can't he?" Here's a mnemonic for remembering the words in French which use the helping verb etre instead of avoir. (Thanks to dtrim@waunakee.k12.wi.us and Whitney Cohen, who both sent me this one.
